One of the biggest challenges I face as an artist is sharing my work.
When I have something to share that I feel excited about, the next question is “how” to share it. I care so deeply about art and creativity that every detail matters to me.
But the longer I waited for things to be “perfect”, the more the energy drained out and the self-doubt set in. I couldn’t measure up to my own standards anymore and I felt lost.
The last two years I’ve spent the majority of my time looking inward, trying to understand all the ways I’ve gotten in my own way. It’s been hard. But it’s also been healing.
I’ve also asked myself “why am I here? What’s my purpose?”
I’ve come to understand that I’m here to make art. To share it. To connect with more people through it, and ride the wave of this journey. I’m pushing through the resistance of perfection and committing to letting the journey unfold beautifully over time. If I, or my work, can inspire, uplift and connect with one person on the way, I did what I came to do. The destination is the journey itself and I’m learning that with every step.
So with this attempt at sharing my art, life and stories, I hope you find yourself smiling, laughing, crying and feeling it all along the way - I’ll be feeling it, too.
With endless love and gratitude,
Willingness ✨
